From April 5 to 13, 2025, Batumi is hosting EAPT Batumi 2025 – one of the largest and most prestigious international poker tournaments, featuring a prize pool of $1 million.

This marks the second international tournament hosted by Eclipse Poker Club. The event not only brings together professional and amateur poker players, but also promotes Batumi as a growing tourist and international business hub.

Such high-level poker tournaments are unprecedented in Georgia and play a significant role in boosting the country's economy and tourism sector. Batumi has been chosen as the host city at the initiative of Eclipse Poker Club.

"Events like this have a major positive impact on the economies of countries and tourist regions, as they attract thousands of high-income visitors during the off-season," says Eclipse Director Levan Korkashvili.

According to the tournament organizers, EAPT Batumi 2025 draws around 2,000 players during the off-season. Including their guests, the region welcomes approximately 5,000 tourists.

"Participants stay in Batumi for at least 10 to 15 days, creating significant economic benefits for hotels, restaurants, and other service industries," adds Korkashvili.

This large-scale event addresses three key challenges:

The Adjara region struggles with a short tourist season, which leads to overcrowded and overburdened resorts during the peak summer months. International experience shows that hosting global tournaments is one of the most effective solutions to this issue.

"This tournament is covered by international platforms with tens of millions of active viewers. It helps promote the country to a segment that consists of potential visitors – and, in many cases, investors," explains Korkashvili.

EAPT Batumi 2025 stands as a landmark event for Georgia. It not only boosts the regional economy but also raises the profile of Georgia as an international destination for tourism and business.

"If the government makes the right decisions and revises fiscal and logistical policies, Georgia can establish itself as one of the key hosts for international gambling tournaments," he concludes.
